Shivanath is a bull in a china shop with the social and argumentative graces to match. He is also right. If there is any confusion here it is between the darker aspects of the Yoruban traditions, such as Voudon and Palo Mayombe, with the whole of West African religion. [Actually, if there is "any confusion" here it is in the mind of Louv, who seems to be laboring under the misconception that Vodou and Palo are "Yoruban" in origin - Ed.] At the moment I will be very clear. I do not like Voudon [sic] and that is an opinion that comes from eight years of research, practical experience practicing it in a solitary fashion as well as directly through Gypsy Lantern and Cult Author, to my great regret. I have never tasted such misery and desperation as when I stepped into the circle of these practices and I have never seen such misery and desperation as I have in the lives of many, many people I have seen burned by these practices.
