On Witchcraft and Being a Witchdoctor

Baracoa

You need to believe in three things to be a good witchdoctor – Yourself, yourself, and yourself.

If you want problems in your life, help people.

When you help sick people, be sure to make an offering to San Lazaro for protection. When sick people get better, they usually betray you.

Don’t look for clients. Be a magnet and let them come to you.

If a client wants to do evil, that’s between them and God. I’m just the messenger.

How does God show he loves you? Children? Any loser can have children. God shows he loves you with money!

Don’t work for free. It’s disrespectful to the spirits.

Don’t feed the spirits too much. Make them work. Otherwise they will get lazy.

The more trouble a client is, the more you should charge them. I will help a person with a good soul for free if the spirits tell me to. But if a client gives me shit, I charge them through the nose. If they can’t afford it, that’s their problem.

A client needs to show respect. If they are really disrespectful then I will refuse to help them at all. Nobody has a right to this kind of help.

I don’t sell my religion. I do it for love.

Don’t get involved in bullshit.
